Mr. Lichtenberger has spent 30 years creating shareholder value for his clients. He has a strong track record as an innovator with broad and diversified experience in corporate finance, venture capital, private equity, acquisitions, and joint ventures. Mr. Lichtenberger also has significant board of director experience as well as active involvement in redirecting distressed companies.
Prior to Crescive Capital, Mr. Lichtenberger spent 18 years at Cargill Incorporated. Mr. Lichtenberger held various leadership positions in corporate development and Cargill Trade & Capital Markets. During his tenure, Mr. Lichtenberger developed and led the project finance practice as well as numerous ESG related investments. Mr. Lichtenberger originated over $5.0 Billion in capital including venture debt, term loans, acquisition financing, trade credit, and various forms of cross-border financing.
Mr. Lichtenberger was a recipient of the Cargill Chairman's Award for Innovation as well as a recipient of the Unilever Visionary Award for Innovation and Sustainability.
Other leadership positions held include Cargill Trade & Capital Markets' balance sheet management activities in Europe, Cargill Trade & Capital Markets' cross-border funding activities in the Americas as well as global training programs for new employees.
Prior to Cargill, Mr. Lichtenberger was a Vice President for the Pritzker Organization, LLC, the family office of the Pritzker family of Chicago, Illinois. While working for the Pritzker family, he invested free cash flow from captive portfolio companies and made investments in early stage, late stage, and distressed companies. Mr. Lichtenberger also managed the oversight of 6 portfolio companies with an equity value of more than $750 Million and raised more than $2.0 Billion of debt capital to fund growth and equity distributions. Notable transactions included the creation and financing of a hotel company in Australia, the first intermodal cargo container securitization and the workouts and liquidations of a federally charted thrift and a retailer of fine art.
Prior to working for the Pritzker family, Mr. Lichtenberger worked at Bear, Stearns & Co. as an Associate in its investment banker department focusing on high yield and M&A in the basic industrials group.
Prior to Bear Stearns, Mr. Lichtenberger was an investment banking financial analyst at Kidder, Peabody and Co. and a senior financial analyst in Kidder's equity capital markets group.
Mr. Lichtenberger holds a BBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan as well as an MBA from the J.L. Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
